John Nelson

Educational Experience: Mr. Nelson's teaching career spans more than 30 years, from the elementary through college levels. He has taught at Grace Community School for the past fourteen years. Mr. Nelson also taught at the Master's College for ten years and has lectured at The Master's Seminary. Prior to coming to Grace, Mr. Nelson was the music teacher and Vice-Principal at a Christian school in Glendale for eleven years. He has also taught at CalTech, as Assistant Choral Director, and in public schools. Mr. Nelson regularly plays over fifty concerts a year as a solo performer, with his own quartet "Crossing Over" and as part of the Nelson Marlowe Duo. He has appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, played at both the Hollywood Bowl and the Los Angles Music Center and performed with the classical guitarist Christopher Parkening. Mr. Nelson also toured internationally with the music ministry of Mary Rice Hopkins. He is frequently contracted for recording sessions in the Los Angeles area and participates in the music ministry of Grace Community Church.

Education:
Mr. Nelson received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Occidental College with further post-graduate work in mathematics and computer science as well as graduate studies at Fuller Theological Seminary. Mr. Nelson holds a clear teaching credential from the State of California.
