Speech I
Description:
This introductory course in public speaking is a one semester course that is offered each semester at GCS. This class is meant to show students that public speaking can be FUN rather than feared and endured. The first Quarter emphasizes the basic mechanics of speech and types of speeches, as well as breaking the ice through humorous short litterary works, dramatic readings and CHARADES meant to be performed before the class. In the second quarter, students will be introduced to the wonders of drama through study and performance of selected scenes from Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Speech I is a prerequisite course for Speech II.
