Description:
This class is designed to teach students the fundamentals of basketball, soccer, and softball as well as leading into competetive in-class scrimmaging. Skills in each class are taught a few weeks prior to the beginning of that GCS sport season. The sport emphasis for the first semester is Basketball and Football, while the second semester will focus on Basketball and Soccer. Endurance running is also stressed, with the goal of running 2.5 miles at the end of the school year. Students are also tested on the five areas of Presidential Physical Fitness- push ups, sit ups, mile run, shuttle run and leg flexibility.
